The Citizenship by Investment Committee (CBIC) was established in 2013 by the Honourable Prime Minister of Grenada and is the Government authority responsible for processing all applications for Citizenship by Investment by applicants and their family.

Grenada is an island country, consisting of itself and six smaller islands at the southern end of the Grenadines in the south eastern Caribbean Sea. Grenada is located northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, northeast of Venezuela, and southwest of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Grenada, known as the ‘Spice Isle’, an exporter of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, coco, nutmeg, and fruit, is one of the most beautiful and lush islands in the West Indies. Location

Grenada is located northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, northeast of Venezuela, and southwest of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Located 12 degrees north of the equator, Grenada lies at the southernmost tip of the Windward Islands just outside the hurricane belt in the south eastern Caribbean Sea.

People

The island’s population is 100,000. Roman Catholics account for 53% of the population with a further 33.2% Protestants and 13.8% Anglicans.

Language

The island has a time difference of 5 hours behind GMT, 1 hour ahead of Washington DC, during standard time.

Economy

Grenada has a stable economy, relying mainly on agriculture and tourism. Agricultural produce includes bananas, cocoa, nutmeg, mace, citrus, avocados, coffee, sugarcane and many exotic spices. The currency is the Eastern Caribbean (EC) dollar which is linked to the US dollar. Major credit cards are accepted at most hotels, car rental companies and shops. Travellers cheques are accepted throughout the Island.

How to get there?

Grenada is just 3 hours from Miami, 4 hours from New York and Toronto and 8 hours from London, all by direct air service. Port of Spain (Trinidad) is just 20 minutes flight away, Barbados just 40 minutes and South America (Venezuela) 45 minutes. The modern airport accommodates international flights including:

  • British Airways and Virgin Atlantic from London
  • American Airlines from Miami, Delta and Caribbean Airlines Air Canada and Caribbean Airlines from Toronto
  • Conviasa from Venezuela
  • Liat and SVG provide regional, inter island flights SVG also handle all private jets. A VIP airport service is available upon request
  • Newly added in 2015 a weekly Delta flight from Atlanta and weekly Jet Blue from JFK has been added

Will I be liable to any taxes in Grenada?

Under the terms of the Citizenship by Investment program you will not be liable to any income tax, capital gains tax or inheritance tax.
